I work in a corporate environment, and I've learned this hard lesson over the years: No one cares about your career as much as you do, no matter how good your manager is. It's on you to have proof and receipts of the good things you do, and make your manager aware. Also, you need to be ready to walk away, and if you do the first part of this right, you don't need to threaten. They'll know you're serious.
