There was some legal issues and the growers won the lawsuit, refused to sell to them after that. Now they have to source from a bunch of places so it's not consistent (heat, quality, flavor.) The growers now make their own version, people are split on if they like it more or less than the original. I honestly preferred some of the other sauces they made but sriracha is their money maker. Underwood vs Huy Fong should net you some relevant articles if you want to read about it.
There was a r/leopardsatemyface post about the ICE agents complaining about not getting paid and no health insurance. My guess is those coffers are getting raided hardcore.
Michelle Obama's farm to school program was also cut. Obviously much smaller, but it was not an insignificant amount for the farms that were part of the program.
Well it was announced June 12th last year. So things were not quite so bad.
But the religion has nothing to do with it. It's being one of the universe's super special boys that gives him powers.
I live here too, don't fool yourself into thinking there's no chance of the state going purple. You can't have that kind of complacency just because the cities are blue, lots of the state is red. I know Simi Valley used to have regular Trump truck parades they just happen less often now. Look where that is. You can't get complacent.
Pageant of the Masters is something you might enjoy. They do different themes every year and cover different mediums. You'll watch them setup and then everyone freezes in place and the lights shift and it's suddenly like you're looking at that art piece. It's in Laguna Beach, CA and happens about this time every year for like two months. Saw it as a kid and Frederic Remington's "Coming Through the Rye" and Georges Seurat's "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" have stuck with me.
If the concept seems like something you'd like try the original book "All You Need is Kill." It also has a manga adaptation that was fully translated if you prefer.
"If God lives inside us, like some people say, I sure hope he likes enchiladas, because that’s what he’s getting."
Think I caught something like "This is (something/one thing?) I don't need right now"
