Close. Red plants still have and use chlorophyll. They just also have additional carotenoids.

Wouldn't mean a dead plant, it would just mean it didn't use photosynthesis. Check out Indian Pipe for an example of a white plant.

Also, try adding a dash of mustard to the mix at the end. This brings out the cheese flavour.

I recommend heating the butter then adding the flour to it and cooking for about a minute until slightly brown. Then add the milk, cheese.

It's more like a Prunus, Beech would have a wavy / more toothed appearance and have more defined veins further apart.
