Agreed. My wife hated the movie, but I got her to agree that part was pretty incredible.

I really liked the "Lightbringer," books by Brent Weeks. Lots of world building and lore.
This worked with outlr dog. But you really have to sell it. My voice was too deep, but my wife's did the trick lol.

My roommate and I had to give his cat a flea bath. He wore 5 shirts and held the cat while I rinsed the cat and consequently my roommate.
