I agree. Lived in Suzhou (city about 1hr from Shanghai). Best 8 years of my life.
Katanas require very high maintenance and careful use. Use it like you would a common European sword and it would pretty much shatter. 3/3
However, this does not make them hard to break -- katanas are usually more brittle than European swords due to their forging process. 2/
