A friend tried very hard to get me into etherium at one point, until I asked him to explain when someone could go into a store and buy a gallon of milk with etherium. He stammered, explained how the transaction would take too long to process, and I stopped him to explain that there was no way I'd get involved in this, thanked him for sharing his thoughts, and moved on. The best you can do is politely explain that you have no interest in or use for crypto

Was recently at my extended family's lake house, and my uncle was complaining that he needed to hire someone to run an electrical line to the woodshed so he could see in there at night. I naively suggested a battery powered touch light from Dollarama as a temporary fix, and he looked at me through the 5 layers of economic strata between us.
Don't even suggest it, one of their ilk who owns a popular social media site often claims that H2G2 is his favorite book.
