I don't live in a Yurt.
Last time I flew I went through one of these machines and after I went through I looked at the operator's screen to see if they had selected man or woman for me, because I wanted to know if I got clocked or not. I guess I looked just a little too long and intently because they saw me, made eye contact, and then pulled me aside for additional screening.
Oh my god the trains are SO CUTE
Fox always highlights the bigger number, or the one they're making a point about, with that red box. It's just their visual design. Source: I had to endure it for many years with my mother.
Yeah...I was at the Boston protest and there were a few hundred of us. Good turnout for <6 hour notice and 20 degree weather but that clip in the bottom right is definitely not what I saw.
I walked into the wardroom one evening, saw there were gigantic home-made *cinnamon buns* on the table, and immediately turned on my heel to walk into the navigator's stateroom and ask where we were going. His response was "I don't know yet, but I'm scared too". This is absolutely that.
Oh wow, no I had no idea! Thank you, I'll have to check it out!
I loved R.O.D. So sad there was just the OVA.
Those are some weak-ass phasers
This was my favorite episode of this show. I even taped it on VHS so I could watch it whenever I wanted.
Messenger line. It's a heavy ball on the end of a thin rope. You throw it to the landing, someone ties on the heavier mooring line that can actually hold the ship's mass, and then you haul it aboard and secure it.
This is true, but there's plenty of things I've done at work that also left me mentally broken and regretting my choices.
My understanding is that a big part of the estimates being so far off over the last few years is that some of it is based on new company formations. They assume that for every new small business they'll hire an average of 10 employees, so if they see 100 new registrations they estimate +1,000 jobs before the actual payroll numbers are known. But with more and more people shifting to gig or independent work (lyfe, OF, etc), they're forming lots of single-member LLCs which don't hire 10 people.
Fuck I remember that. Now you've got me missing Yummy's and Aloha Crepes.
His name was already known as i understand it. They're just going to pick a few conservatives to burn publicly and then they can hold that up as proof they didn't redact any conservatives while the ones who actually matter are conspicuously absent.
Now that's a deep cut...
The cyclical nature of time
One of the things I always admired about the aesthetics of American government was how elegantly simple everything was. While *absolutely* not true, it did present a comforting illusion that it was government by common people and anyone could do it. I guess it's fitting that the veneer is coming off.
What was it painted over with?
I love sea stacks. They look so alien.
Oh my god, iron your flags people!
Anything more than zero means I'm ready to go
An Irish pub near where I used to live had a menu item called the Irish Breakfast which was 7 pints of Guinness and a baked potato.
When I was working on my private pilot's license years ago I was thinking of getting a helicopter qualification, so my dad asked his professional pilot friend what he thinks of helicopters and his response was "I think they're a good way to die."
Yes I'm aware, I'm trans a veteran who got out right before the policy was enacted and I've been following it closely. But again, that is a peacetime policy designed to rile up bigots and persecute a minority. You institute a draft when infantry are dying by the thousands. They still view us as men, and thus eligible for the draft, and I doubt they'll pass up an opportunity to not only kill us but torture us while they do it.
No, they're just going to forcibly detransition any trans person who gets drafted. They want us out during peacetime, but in war why would they offer an opportunity to let us live?
I commissioned on the same day as this ship, 219 years later. It's on my class coin.
Can someone explain why it's so tall? Is it just to add weight so the shovel can bite in, and to keep it traveling straight, or is there something else to it?
Steam Greenlight hasn't been a thing for over a decade, you just fork over $100 and Steam gives you an appid.
I'm genuinely curious what other word people would use besides 'groceries'...
