Perhaps its because 94.7% of women who have their tubes tied already have 1 or more children, and removing a women's ability to conceive permanently before having a child can have horrible consequences. MAYBE the Dr. doesn't want to have a woman in his/her office sobbing about never being able to have children or blaming them for ruining her life. Do people think once you become a Dr. they suck the feelings and emotions out of their brains and they are immune to mental trauma?
