What the hell. You just described my life almost exactly. For almost 3 years I have felt that way, and I only recently started changing.
I got stiffed the last 2 years in a row. I was super excited too. So I'm just not participating this year.
My dad is an excellent resource when I want to feel like an underachieving disappointment. Works every time.
If there are people who are unstable enough to do horrible things even when surrounded by wonderful people, I don't see why dogs can't be.
My little sister had a friend in preschool whose throat was ripped out by her dog. The owners weren't bad people and there was no warning.

My first girlfriend left me, then became a lesbian shortly after. Then she became a guy. I must have left an impression.
His name is Zach King. He's awesome and we went to high school together. He lives in LA now.
