You can certainly double expose film on a camera, digital or film. I do this all the time on my digital camera, and the image is created 1/2
I can confirm; have done this several times in my own photography projects, without any use of Photoshop.
Ps if imager was the intent, and we had to omit the a, why not the 'e' as well instead of spelling it with a 'u' ... imgr =/= same?
Apparently the nytimes had them in the paper but u can buy online too
