I don't know about back then, but in my 40+ years in this country, and in service of her for 4; I can say that that most doctors do not seem to give a single shit about the patient. Spent 5 years with cancer because multiple doctors just kept telling me I had sinus congestion and outright refuse to do one iota more, or spend more than 5 minutes in the room. If you're not wealthy, you barely get healthcare here.
The difference is the level of violence our country is willing to commit against us. Our police are a thinly veiled paramilitary force that does not hesitate to kill us for even the smallest transgressions sometimes. Depends on their vibe, ya know? Also does no good to burn cars in Illinois or Texas, unless they burn in all 50 states; and even then, the people we need to tar and feather will be sailing away on their yachts, or to space while we are mercilessly gunned down for our audacity.
Knowledge in general, but of history, is especially dangerous to the evil and wicked. The number of people I meet today who don't even know the past 100 years is astounding, and it shows in our societies.
Gag me with a spoon, but by god, I swear a cap of this a day cured my chronic kidney stones.
If we get the point of routing shield walls.. them fighting back was expected and welcomed. The peaceful part of the proteat ended in the 1990s

Happens to me as well, and with gusto. For example, I downvoted a short with Jordan P. and Youtube spent a week trying to convince me to become an asshole through an endless slew of alt/far right bullshit. At the same time, I watch a vastly larger amount of what would be considered left leaning, free thinking, educated, empathetic content. But not a single one of those keywords makes it into my algorithm.

Hay, Thanks! No RAID in the box, NVME each to OS, Games, and Creation/Data, then each SSD is a continuation of content on the 2 non-OS NVME drives (Games and Creation/Data). I only use the NVME's for stuff that really benefits and the rest can run/store on their partner SSD. The HDD is the backup/file history/image restore operation that then clones backups to a NAS, but I am sentimental about spinning metal, and it is convenient to restore a system to "an hour ago" in 5 minutes.
Every time I see/hear someone ask "where were the police on Jan 6?" I despair that I cannot reobtain mine own ignorance of reality.
