I actually was going back and forth on the hearts, tried different "entities" (nuts, leafs, ...) but hearts are just simple and universal - anything else just felt weird... I could also abstract it and make a health bar or something (still same debacle, it's not a new invention and Nintendo did it all probably) - do you have any ideas?
PC will definitely come first, but who knows, Consoles should also be possible! Pico-8 unfortunately not, as Pico-8 is very limited and I would have to have written the whole game in LUA instead

Yes, I intend to release it on steam, and if it's successful, I'll also release it on the Nintendo switch:)
Yup, you can find or buy upgrades, there are different types also
fortunately there are better weapons and damage upgrades :) my aim is that enemies at first are challenging but the player gets better and stronger, and will feel satisfied when killing once-challenging enemies with ease as they progress
I'm quite confident that they wouldn't care, since there are a few commercial games that make a bunch of money and look very similar as well. As long as the assets or intellectual property isn't stolen, everything should be good... also as I publish more footage you'll see that the whole game is quite diverse (there's literally going to be a whole sci-fi world)
I made everything myself, but I won't deny that I got a lot of inspiration from various Zelda graphics :)
That's intentional, to give off those sweet Zelda vibes

What do you mean by "Ad"? If showing a bit of my game counts as advertisement, then sure, I guess it is, but the purpose of this post is rather to get some feedback and see how people respond to my game
