Do these Black Friday mobs still happen? I hope that online shopping and constant discounts have eased up on them
Happy Earth Day

Huh, TIL
Is it legal up there, or do people just kinda not care as long as there's no crashes?
Bush pilots are on another level
Thank you for sharing this, OP. I hope you are healing.
The original German name for it is the “hooked/crooked cross,” which is fitting to what the OP is saying. The swastika was called a “hakenkreuz” and can now be seen as a perversion of Christ’s teachings.
Is that a bag of eyes or are you just happy not to see me?
Fair point
I will agree that it's a really cringe chorus, but isn't this reading a bit far into it? I don't fault anyone for speaking out against bad behavior... But it's just a crappy pop song about relationship drama, I don't think anyone is expected to take it any more seriously than a Britney Spears song
Is that Junji Ito?
Always wear sunscreen
Did y'all hear anything the commencement speaker said???
Don't wear gaudy sunglasses while giving a commencement address and expect to be taken seriously
That was incredible
$5,000,000 on Zillow
#25 Let's keep it real, fam. Nobody thinking about eating a 5-layer burrito has any control left
Nah man, Jesus told us all to just relax and not think about the hard stuff for a while, that's how we change the world for the better
Is it illegal to hand out hack saws?
He was literally crucified for sedition, and now we have a "Conservative Christian Right"
No, it's not a conspiracy, it's the result of a very complex world being represented by a medium that must portray some level of certainty and authority in order to remain relevant. So in light of that, we should be media literate and maintain a meta awareness of what we're deriving from a headline vs what it's saying. That's the only point being made here
Yes, I must be a climate and 9/11 denier then
They never told us it will collapse, they told us it "could." We then internalized the message "will collapse." This is how an editor hedges bets the current climate consensus without telling an outright falsehood. Headlines are very brief, they don't add any qualification unless it's needed. Every time "might," "could," "may," "potentially," appear in a headline, there's a reason. On 9/11, it was first "a collision," then a "possible attack." On 9/12, the NYT just said "U.S. Attacked."
The same field of research disagrees on whether it can ever collapse
You are running AMOC
"Could Collapse," is what the publication would point to in a court of law. They cannot claim it will, and do not do so. It's how savvy publishers sensationalize without publishing anything factually incorrect. Crappier ones like Breitbart just stick blatant\ lies in the headlines.
But maybe some of those assumptions are really bad or not supported by data? Yes, the climate is in crisis, agreed wholeheartedly. That doesn't mean that the scientific process can be skipped over. We can certainly pass legislation so that we stop fucking around and don't have to find out. I think that's more like what you are suggesting?
