Thank you! I used to have a gray piece of paper under it in my old studio, I love the mdf board idea!! I have a few that are roughly that size so I will do that ❤️

Thanks, I snatch them up every time I see them at a thrift store. I have loads saved to gift to aspiring artists too

The one I am thinking of is like a minute long and like 95% Russians/former Soviet people dancing lol. Thank you for taking the time to help!

#26 I have 8 tape measurers and still can't find one when I need it

All acrylic with this one so that it can dry in a reasonable amount of time lol. It has been 3 days now and I have already finished framing this one and ready to put it up :)

Exactly. I love using the underpainting phase as a warm up and a chance to sketch out the composition and feel out the placements.

For impasto like this I like to tone the canvas first just because of the amount that shows through. It adds some warmth to the painting and interest. Also gives me a nice middle value to work over as opposed to that stark white. Psychologically helps me get over the "staring at a white canvas" stage of any piece lol. I have tried using all sorts of undertones. Some of them really make the painting glow

Gaffreyart.com is the site!

Yea, but you need paint to make a painting and this is very fun to do this way. Not to worry, this paint is a "sculptural acrylic" and they sell it in 32oz piping bags. You feel ridiculous using small amounts

I am unsure why we in the US can't just agree to let children be exempt from the capitalist struggle until they are ready. Have some free food 😭

It took me a while to even comprehend the colors he used. None of the words made any sense lol. Phtalo? Prussian? Umber? Sienna?
