IMO, the US, through history, have had great authors all the way. Same with painters. They made great movies up until the mid 80’s. Also brilliant videogames until late 90’s. But they don’t reach the ankles of british rock music after the early 60’s. They showed promise with the Seattle wave of bands in the 90’s, but then the almighty dollar rose its ugly head and killed it. Unfortunately.

9 years ago, I payed the final mortgage on my small old house and property lot that no one else wanted. Since then, without any special reason, I’ve installed geo thermal system for heat and solar panels with battery backup for electricity. I already had my own water well. I dont own a car since I have a short bicycle distance to my work and the town center with stores. Seems like I finally had SOME financial luck. Perhaps growing some vegetables can improve my situation even a little bit more.

Even if movies or tv shows believed lost and unexpectedly are found, is outside of my usual interest area, I find stories like this fascinating. My favourite is how many cut scenes from ”Metropolis” were found in Brazil. This is also a good one.

I’ve worked in those conditions on a housing development construction site for 11 weeks back in the winter -94/-95 outside of Helsingborg here in Sweden. They were in a very strict deadline crisis and offered double and a half pay and free lunch every day. The hours were 7 am to 6 pm. Pleasant working crew, supportive boss and a very smart supervisor. We made a loooooot of money, which came in very handy for me and my family.

If you zoom in on google maps, you can find the store in the middle. Back in those days, many remotely connected stores jumped on the video game bandwagon craze. They just stayed for the initial 3-4 years with the Nes, and kept everything a little bit cheaper than other stores. I still have all the receipts.

I was a little late to catch on to the Nes 8 bit system, but anyway, I also played Zelda2 before the original. It was at my friends house in the fall of -88. Somewhere during the following holidays, I bought my own Nes at a very small electronics shop at a mall outside Helsingborg, Sweden. It came with Iceclimber, but I bought Zelda2 and Super Mario bros 1 along with it. Shortly after I returned the same store for Zelda1, Metroid and Kid Icarus. The store still exists today with the same owner.
