Since they do not actually return anyone's calls or care about humans and their government in any way, your secret is safe with them.
The best way is to call the DA office in that city and ask. Give them the name of who called, who you are etc. Same as when you get a possible scam. Do not call back the number given, call the publicly listed phone number of the office.
