I had a disaster of japanese beetles, using 4 traps on my acre for 3 years, I was emptying the bags every few days, now I'm at the point where I hardly see any, and also my neighbors don't either. I soak them in water to kill them and let them rot a bit and pour the water around the yard hopefully to cause disease for whichever survive.

Duh, Conservatives skew older and are less technologically saavy- That being said, confidence in identifying deepfakes is not something to take lightly either- Nothing worse than false confidence.

The value of a stock is based on the future earnings of the company, discounted over time. When there are less shares outstanding, each one owns a larger piece of that pie. Therefore it is worth more.

You can use thinned artist oils or glazes, make sure to add japan drier and clearcoat it with oil poly.

To "fix" this problem the govt needs to intervene. The tax code needs to be fixed. Minimum wage needs to be fixed, healthcare needs to be fixed, labor laws need to be fixed etc. etc. You're not gonna guilt the rich into paying more.

I don't say what SHOULD happen, but the system of capitalism that we live under treats labor just like any other cost. Owners try to minimize all costs. This is simple economics. Due to competition, if one owner chooses to be very generous, he will either make much less money or go out of business. American workers are competing with foreign workers as well (sometimes unfairly mind you!) That's how you can buy all kinds of cheap junk on Amazon.

People have not become more greedy, we've been killing each other over money since we were cavemen. The tax system & govt has been adjusted to reward the greediest.

No, but does he deserve a raise?

I'm not suggesting what's right. I'm just trying to get people to understand what's happening in order to fight it rather than blindly complaining like is so popular here.

What's missing is a fundamental understanding of capitalism. Companies employ more and more capital to improve plant and machinery because it pays and they are allowed to screw over workers.

Conversely, I think the worker who makes handmade widgets deserves more money, because it requires talent, whereas the worker pressing the widget button deserves less. And in 10 years the artisan widget maker will still have a job, and the new robot will be able to turn itself on and the button pusher will be out of a job.
