Why would this be your last year to sell power? I assume regulations are changing in your area. I wish you luck. I'm just getting into this. Its just been a month now but so far all is good. I am astonished at how much power sunlight has.
I did not know they were spec'd at a temp, but that makes sense. I did know they can be better at lower temps. I assumed the 7.49 I'm rated at would only been seen at perfect conditions. This is good. I'll get closer to it more often than I thought. I do know they will be slightly worse for every degree over a threshold. Hence I put on lighter shingles when I redid my roof in prep for this.
That is true. T&D charges are high. I can see it amounting the the same logic as others with different rates. Self consumption is the way. :)
I tuned the car charger off as I'm going out for supper. down to 2kw production right now, now selling to grid. House bat is full. 29.5kWh prod, 31.4 consumed. but I put about 14% in the car this morning before the sun came up. Put another 27% in with sunlight. I need to automate this. I just did it manually to see what's possible. I think this is my best day yet. Overall 7.7 purchased with no more today as I'm good on the house bat till morning. Thats 2 or 3 days driving for the car.
In Alberta we buy/sell to the grid at the same cost. but delivery is extra and we don't get paid that when we sell. So self consume is nice but not as important as some places that have different buy/sell rates. Still my installer said about 50% of new installs are hybrids like mine in last 2 years.
I'm in Alberta. Close to Edmonton in latitude. Alberta has great sunlight. Production is going down now. I turned my car amps down but still doing over 2kW. currently added 23% to the car. I have a 7.5kW hybrid grid tied system. I have a 10kWh battery but is expandable. I hit 7.74kW production (for a min) my best ever. Yes, over my listed install? But its been at about 4-5kW production most of the day. The system is sized at 110% of last years usage but time will tell.
I got solar a month ago. Hard to believe we don't build houses with solar by default. So much power is just waiting to be had. I'm dumping sunlight to my car right now for free. Today is only half over. I've filled my 60kWh car battery by 15% so far today on just sunlight. And that's after I filled a 10kWh house battery today so I'll be not be buying power before the sun comes up tomorrow when I do it all again. Its march. Can't wait to see what happens in summer. This is in Canada.

As far as the US goes. People can be nice but as a whole I don't trust the US anymore. It will likely be many years before I travel to the US again. Even if they get rid of trump they have shown us who they are. The voters who put him in power still remain.
That seems odd. I don't know of anyone who has voted for an independent. Or do you just mean a voter who is not registered with any party? I'd say thats the majority but they all consider themselves as a voter of a party. I grew up Conservative but will never ever vote them again after how they behaved during covid. I have now voted all 3. There was no NDP this last time around so I voted Lib. And he has done an amazing job.
This is way steeper than it looks. Look at the trees to see how much the camera is turned.
Pic is top down but they went past 90 degrees. Top of pic is very slightly closer then bottom.we are used to it being the other way round. I agree. It looks off.Its the edge of the bread doing it. Normaly you would see the bottom edge, not the top.And I have this exact plate. Yes gotten from my grandma many years ago. lol.

I hit a deer once. bought a $900 pile of crap car to keep me going till I could find something good that I liked. Drove it for years as it was good enough that I never bothered to get a better one for a long time. lol.
That would be the cheap badly designed ones. No issues for many many years with 2 cats. No scooping.
Yep, saw that post and meant to comment but got busy. I had a litter robot 2 for many many years. Got a litter robot 4 awhile ago. Fantastic... but way to expensive. But I love it anyhow.
Good news. There are lots that talk to a local controller. No need to go outside your network.
