I have a friend much younger than me that has a list of names and email addresses I want notified as well as the text of the notification.

Yeah, I get it. Not cheap for something you'll likely only use for this, but it's oh so much easier.
Also, if you're going to do this repeatedly, invest in a microplane to do the zesting. Best thing I ever did.
I cannot stress enough the thorough washing/sterilizing part. I ruined my last batch somehow. The batch turned brown. :(
