Well we don't really know. There are a lot of people who say it would help and a lot who say it would hurt.
Anyone who is willing to work should be able to support themselves. At the current minimum wage, that's not true.

Some of the recent thing's he has said have been straight up unconstitutional as well as blatantly racist.

I would suggest watching the video. He was backing away and clearly posed no threat. Lethal force was not justified.
The situation changes. After a shot he was downed, even if lethal force was justified originally (and I don't think it was).

Police are only supposed to use lethal force if they or someone else is in immediate danger. This was very excessive.
