No. Look, there was a time when I was narrowly focused on space exploration and a certain fascist was pushing progress in the right direction. I tried to defend factual accuracy around SpaceX, which had predictable results. Still feel that 'people are wrong on the internet' impulse, but there are bigger issues now. I'm an asshole, but I mean well. I am genuinely trying to keep comments topical / factual instead of personal. If something I said felt like an attack, call my ass out because that was not my intent but you will have my apology anyway because intent does not excuse results.
...really expected an Epstein reference in that last panel
based on the ads people have been screenshotting, the owners probably won't mind it becoming a fascist echo chamber. (I'm just doubting that this outcome is intentional on their end.)
By that point the bots and trolls are going to drown out any opposition that hasn't left anyway, but this is an inevitable outcome as the real-human userbase declines and (lack of) moderation falls behind on banning the nazibots. It's just happening all at once instead of over the next year or two.
TFG is the opposite of subtle. If there was pressure on the current owners it would have been loud.
IMO - if corporate paternus had that kind of control over the userbase there wouldn't have been an uprising in the first place
by 'change things' I mean cause Facebook some trouble and possibly cost them some ad-rev and/or advertiser relationships
if you catch stuff like this, try to grab a screenshot with any other ads on the page and report it to the other advertisers
they probably won't give a shit, but it's a lot more likely to change things if they do
I'll be lurking at the imgcat social club discord for now
and deviousness, because potato remains the queen of dumps.
I mean...
they're welcome to go pay the feds back for their education, their roads, any assistance they or their parents received, clean water (some exclusions apply), safe food (mostly), a stable economy (roughly half the time), the existence of something like 70% of all medicine, and boy this list would be a lot easier to make if we'd stop electing fascists and / or economically illiterate thugs, but the point still stands
with our taxes we buy civilization
counteropinion: reddit is a festering wasteland of sewage-filled dumpster fires
there are a few clearings in the smog where people gather and huddle together against the stank surrounding them, but that does not justify letting the rest of that hellsite exist.
step 1: be underwater. Octopi see much better under water.
step 2: hold still. It's hard to lead a moving target with all that resistance.
step 3: leave a forwarding address / discord link / place you'll be hanging out later in a post.
fuck that guy
I just hope nobody else got hurt in the process
with every breath
feels a little like "5-minute crafts presents: improvised detonators"
for this meme to be accurate he'd have to be swinging mitochondria girl into the bloodied body of doctor girl, not walking hand in hand

A blue texas and a red rust belt is an outcome so unlikely I'd warn the millions of people struck by lightning that day to beware of flaming sharks.
But yes, this is why the electoral college needs to go. It was supposed to protect us from a demagogue like TFG, but it didn't as the roles involved became ceremonial. Hopefully the interstate vote compact succeeds.
After that, then, the next best things we can do about fairness are ranked choice and 100% at-large seats.
it's bad right now, but the idiots in charge don't seem to understand that there's a line between obedient peasants and starvation-driven revolt. They've cranked the oppression knob to 11 and keep looking at the marks going up to 13. Costs are up, wages are down, unemployment is way up, and everything they do pushes on the wrong side of the scale. It's going to get worse.
The economy is down in general; new construction is down, manufacturing is down, sales are down, shipping volume is down. On the IT / tech side, ad rev is down and "AI" isn't delivering. Almost every industry is shedding jobs.
That's on top of the millions of former government employees trying to figure things out after the DOGEpocalypse.
There are far more people looking for far fewer positions, which I suppose is making some psychopathic C-suite people very happy at plummeting labor costs.
not exactly on-theme but hey, it's advertiser unfriendly and eldrich garfield will reward you for spreading his cognitohazardous existence during the Digesting Times.
Altman and Musk throwing their money at each other in court? Yes please, lots more of that.
they don't understand humor
closest they get is laughing at other people's pain
that's part of why fascists and dictators hate comedians
impressive, still up
That said, in a permanent habitat that imports carbon and water, wood is a decently useful byproduct of regenerative life support. It's marginally less energy to produce than bioplastic.
The adhesive in plywood (and any other composite) outgasses and deposits on nearby structures, which is extremely bad for telescope lenses and sort of bad for PV cells.
I'm sure this one was formulated for use in space with extremely low vapor pressure rersin. Wood in general is suboptimal for this; we can build better materials and the price is mostly irrelevant due to launch costs.
net negative score is impressive... one has to try pretty hard for that
*scross through user comments*
yeah, that checks out
that's also pushed by the dual traditions of FCC fines for broadcasters (which are completely irrelevant to modern distribution but the ghost of reduced shareholder value past is loud and insistent) and the morality police (self-appointed) from various religious groups or their followers, which are powerful enough to affect payment processors.
good eye, I think you're right
I'm like 80% sure that's bodypaint and not actual jeans
and that's a populated category
they could restore service to Ukraine for one
just needs a few more pairs along the side, maybe two tiny ones top-center on the forehead
