I'm in the UK, can confirm I have heard nothing about this
Blaming single generations might be a bit unfair. Lots of this is down to the slow pace of progressive thought vs the payback from traditionalists and those who lose power and money by a change in the status quo. We are where we are because of and despite the previous generations. Very slow, painful steps :(

Why not focus more energy on what can be done to achieve positive changes? Stereotypes are easy, doing something is harder.
