I don't know about everywhere, but at the Walmart I worked at you are correct on both counts.
I worked at Walmart and ours were made of empty boxes.
At the Walmart I worked at, they are empty boxes assembled by Coke employees.

Pretty sure what it means is take out any garbage cans that are full :P
I work 8 hours a day, with a half hour commute each day, and I do more than this every day (usually)
I like this list, but it needs tweaking. You really should clean your carpets more than once a year, especially if you have pets or kids.
