I was struck by another vehicle and shattered my ankle. I then had to climb back over the median with non working legs in a pure adrenaline rush and I sat on it while screaming for help. Once I hailed a car to finally stop I got off the wall till paramedics arrived trying to not pass out. They tourniquet both my legs and I went right to the hospital and surgery where I got some titanium implants in my left tib/fib and a stainless steel clamp in my ankle.
It was for my bicycles it fell off my car in the highway after a ride. Was on my way home. There was very slow traffic. I got out only to not cause an accident for anyone else and my car was the bottleneck at the end of the of the traffic but the impatience of others got the best of me. Instead of stopping people started driving around me and someone not paying attention just drove right at me. They clipped one of my legs as I leapt over the median. Once on the other side with a broken leg…
I was struck by 2 vehicles doing something similar. I do not recommend this. I’m glad this scenario ended well. It doesn’t always. I have extra parts in my body now and luckily I didn’t lose any because my left leg was mostly detached and my right foot was dangling. I was extremely lucky. I still suffer occasionally from ptsd but EMDR is a real power for healing. If you’ve read this much I hope you have a good day and do not walk into traffic until you are sure all vehicles STAY stopped.
