"It" in this case is just accepting someone and calling them by their preferred name and pronouns. Plus with how the consciousness of host and symbiont are mingled together, it's not as cut and dried as "Curzon didn't become Jadzia". otherwise, why wouldnt Jadzia say something like "I'm Jadzia, not Curzon"? saying "Its Jadzia now" is a thing you say... post transition. If it was only memories mingled together, there wouldn't need to be rules to protect the host from the symbionts whims
