You just need to watch the right anime. FMP Fumoffu, Nozaki-kun, and Daily Lives of HS Boys don't rely on it at all.

Sorry, but shounen shows usually have pretty shallow and mediocre dramatic elements. You can't base a good opinion on one episode.
Watch until episode 5, and if you still don't like it, then you may not enjoy the series. Episode 5 introduces the main plot.
