I didn’t get one but they are elliptic

Thanks for the response. Gonna go see if I can dig it from my trashcan so I can look at it under a microscope

It had no smell and it felt like a tongue.

The non identified, are you sure it is a bacteria?

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea pseudoalteromonas has 2 clades, one being pigmented with a wide array of colors. Orange, yellow, pink, purple, red you name it!

Frustratingly the only paper on this is one from 1995 that describes what the cells do to form them. However, no gene regulation is known

about coccoid bodies and only a few bacteria in the Oceanospirillales are known to do it with few exceptions. Its similar to an endospore/

for the new sp. I sent it to a culture collection and its pleomorphic phenomena is likely coccoid body formation although nothing is known /

The purple one died. I think it was left in the fridge too long and the purple bi-product killed it. It was a Pseudoaltromonas sp. maybe new

I think it may be attributed to the media which is not a defined media (marine agar)

3 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea it grows in liquid media but in the past when I have done growth curves it rarely hits exponential phase

I’m glad I was able to help you learn! Fungus came from the sea before they were on land. Chytrids are the original fungi/yeast

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you look closely the first thing I do is stare at my hand after letting the bird go. Haha

I was scared to pick it up as I didn’t wanna hurt the lil guy. But I managed to get a good grip on him to pick him up luckily.
