There's literally nobel-prize winning research on why we overestimate this sort of danger and underestimate *real* danger.
The crime these suggestions protect against happen so rarely it's not worth worrying about. Teach your kids how to objectively assess risk.

I used 23andme, and found I was in the highest category for genetic predisposition to weight gain. Even at this level, I can attribute ~4kg.

If the average wage was $0.22, and the average salary was $200-400, does that mean that people worked half as many hours per year in 1915?
