Good on you for taking care of yourself, though! It’s become so endemic in this area in the last 20 years and people still don’t realize. I hope you have more good days than bad. As a vet tech, I’ve seen some shit, but something so easily preventable in dogs seems like a no-brainer. They scrapped the human vaccine trials because of misuse of study information, or something like that. Shame. Also, doxy sucks to take, so bravo! That wrecks your stomach.

Good call, my dude. I’m assuming (on good faith) that you’re being sarcastic?? lol. Ticks look WAY more horrifying in person.

As a vet tech, the cap for any animal using gabapentin is very high, but the dose is typically 100 mg / cat. We compound for this very situation. Sometimes it works, sometimes rage is just the mood. Towels, “space helmets,” and Kevlar gloves tend to work, mostly. Feliway is like pouring a bottle of water on a house fire. Once you isolate the chompy parts, the only thing you worry about are the weapons. TBH, I feel really horrible when any animal gets that stressed out coming into a clinic.

Narcissism combined with Borderline Personality Disorder. The narcissism counters the poor self-image. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a definitive diagnosis of psychopathy as well. Carefully curated words are his only protection in prosecution. It’s terrifying. “He was not an officer of the United States.” I feel like syllable counting is his only defense and people still eat it up. It’s disgraceful, but what does he (or his diehard followers) care?

This is my chihuahua to a tee. She’s not psycho like most people expect. She’s all about peace and love and stinky kisses when you don’t want them. Chihus have great personalities!

Robin. Gender neutral. Plus beagles are aloof, silly and dramatic at the same time. Like Robin Williams.

TL; DR: be his rock when you want to run away. You’ll be surprised how much of a positive difference his coping can get. (Thanks, mom!!)

At his age, his comprehension of feelings and emotions is chaos. You’ll both get there. Just keep on trucking and trial and error will help.

Even a small step, like recognizing I’m upset and just taking a deep breath. It’s not always effective, but it’s a mindful habit that builds
