Difficult to say. Greece has the first stable records of democracy and discussed it widely. But India and ancient Sumer also may have been.

i.e: My cousin, who is a Chinese Muslim, would not be treated differently for being a Muslim. But my friend who is a Persian would be.
Well, many do, but that's precisely the point: Islamophobia isn't pointed at actual "Islam", it's pointed at Arabs.
You can criticize Islam where it oppresses women & inspires war, same way you can criticize any ideology. But people use it to be racist.
They do happen to be Muslims or have cultural mores that make them appear, to the glib racist, as "Muslim" so the ideas are conflated.
Islamophobia isn't about criticizing the religion, that part is fine. It's that there's a racially charged movement against "Arabs".
Jesus may not have existed, on the other hand. Or he may have slept with Mary Magdalene out of wedlock. Who cares? Irrelevant moralizing.
Your ancestors likely married children at some point. It used to be "normal", so it's hardly a point of contention in real critique.
