Just a thirty-something white girl trying to avoid assholes on the internet lest she become one herself.
Thank you so much for reiterating your misgivings on my prior posts--- the fact on our end remains that we have not had any progress or luck on fixing the larger problems we are facing--- these posts in effect are the updates--- we've been mere days, and mere hours from losing everything, for roughly a year. Any appreciation has been shown directly to those who've helped-- were we meant to post the proceeds of each individual pool as we went? Were we meant to go "UPDATE: STILL FUCKED"?
Am I supposed to post an update every time a job opportunity falls through? Or every time we get denied public assistance? Am I supposed to post thanking each and every individual (often anonymous) donor to the pool? There isn't exactly a style guide available for people in our situation.
Please, I am actually begging you--- what would it literally look like, if we were actually in the situation we claim--- where every dollar we get goes into baseline survival needs like shelter (the motel) or food (for the cats or us)--- what updates could we give? How wouldn't it seem hollow to make additional posts thanking everyone only to turn around and need to beg for more? We currently entirely owe the fact we have shelter, or our fuzzy family, to the kindness and generosity of others.
I don't control Imgur's content policies; so I answered to the part I could meaningfully respond to.
It seemed like there were two points--- It's difficult to trust our intentions, and Imgur doesn't vet individual posters the way that specific reddit communities might.
What real update could we realistically have if all we've managed is to barely stay put?
Thoughtless advice from a thoughtless person. If you earnestly believe we haven't tried, why would you even believe we're worth the advice?
We have no friends or family local to us that could do this; I did answer the question, the original one, about why we don't have stable, hourly wage-based employment. We are disabled, but it would take an effort of years to get disability pay, as nearly anyone with a disability and any experience trying to get benefits can tell you.
If only we could get paid for every thoughtless platitude we receive, then you'd actually help saying stuff like this.
If you have a friend in your life ready to take on four animals in their house for little to no compensation for possibly weeks at a time, you're very, very fortunate. We aren't that lucky.
If you think a Kennel or pet sitter isn't going to at least double how much we have to pay every day, you're mad; not everyone with a disability is able to get disability payments, and not every disability is readily apparent upon first looking at someone.
Downvoted, because Emergency Rental Assistance is eviction prevention; Downvoted because temporary shelters are often for individuals or families with children and no one else; Downvoted because the Pizza angels can only help so often, and only so much; and Downvoted because you're not the fuckin' Imgur Police dude. We need help, but we don't need the constant judgement about what we must not have tried already.
Have you contacted any of them? I have, and none have resources available to help. Why does everyone assume me and my fiance don't look for any of these things ourselves? That we're just being lazy and haven't even typed "PA assistance" into google like you did? You're right-- it's easy to find that. Which is why it's not new to us, and sadly not useful. We've tried, no success. If you think a link from a quick google search is what we needed, we're not that pathetic.

If you actually look into any groups or resources for people in a situation like ours, you'll find out quickly than none of them, at all, actually hve any space or reaoueces to help. Homeless in a motel with 4 cats and my fiance in Bristol, Pennsylvania. We can cook simple things, so that's better than delivery... We also might use grocery money on paying for the room, if anyone can help out...

I am so exhausted, worn down and sick from panic... We have only a short time to make pay,ents today... I just want to sleep. I need to recover. My fiance is running on empty. We can't keep this up without help.
Please... Anyone... I don't know how much time we have left. I am so tired. I feel sick. We need a miracle to make it through today.. I don't have the strength.
Can you think of any? A shelter won't allow pets or many possessions. A real apartment would be better, but how can we save up for the "first month last month and deposit" while avoiding the street? This is all we have right now that keeps us together and not sleeping on the ground...

There's so many others like me in America struggling for food and shelter, terrified of the direction our politics are going, with people (and pets) they want to protect but are unable to. If it can't be helped... And I end up on the street for the last time... Just remember there are others that can still be helped. Stopped from getting to the point I'm at.
