Get an EV. Take some solar panels with you and an inverter and you can VERY SLOWLY charge virtually anywhere. May not be as fast as you want, but it will sever your vehicular dependence on oil. Awful for road trips but you can go manageable short distances and top up with 240V from literally any outlet in Australia
