Depends on the group you go to. I have a few guys I have worked with that do not believe in God. Their higher power are things like nature and other non Judeo-Christian God. A few guys I know are atheists. The book was written in 1939 by a bunch of white guys. So yeah it says God in the book but even Bill W was not all that religious. A.A. must be doing something right cause millions of people have gotten sober using it. The book even says that we don’t have all the answers.
I went through a divorce, my father suicide , and my mother’s short, miserable battle with cancer. Nothing is worth going back to the alcoholic hell I was in. You can do it. It will be hard at times, but anything worth doing will be hard.
As an add person I do t believe in organization. Into the book bag it all goes.
Been there man! For me I have found other supportive men to vent and talk about my problems. The women in my life have not always been the most supportive.
