I've had great luck using this stuff called "Free All" on rusty/stuck parts on engines.It's like a miracle in a can!
I put solar panels on my house in 2003 and another set in 2015 - not because it made sense financially, but because I thought it was the right thing to do. It's easy to get discouraged and think that anything you can do is too small to make a difference, but if enough people do something small, it becomes meaningful. Every little bit helps.
