He wasn't, my boss just had a big soft spot for him because her dad was an alcoholic so she understood. She may have kept track of it but I can assure you it never went up the ladder because he would have been terminated immediately had it gotten to HR or the person overlooking our branch.
Oh it was never for a celebration, always just another day at work. Also wasn't his first rodeo either, happened on multiple occasions too. Esp during covid, we'd have meetings on teams, he'd hop on late and wouldn't be able to put two sentences together.
