What was the goal?
I always used to start parent-teacher conferences bt asking parents what the kids was like at home. And then seque into, "Yes, that's what he does in class too". Or, rarely, "Really? This is who he is at school."It worked almost all the time as a way for parents to open up and for us to show how we were all on the same team.
Nah, there's a comment thread on this post of hazel eyed people (myself included) noting changes in eye colour due to health. I've been looking at my eyes for 50 years. It's more than light quality.
Hazel here too. My husband swears they change according to my mood!! Sometimes I'll be brushing my teeth or whatever, and get distracted by whatever colour they are today.

It's Indonesia (or Malaysia?), not Pluto. Guarantee they don't need you to 'cut them [any] slack' for using an English abbreviation correctly on social media.

Can't afford? Have you ridden any public transportation in Asia? Chinese trains are high speed, plentiful, comfortable, and very affordable.

In Myanmar, the comedians, the singers, the entertainers, the poets, the writers, the artists were all jailed by the junta.
I am sharing Gumbus videos with all my friends now. Am fully obsessed!!Very cool!
Have recently rediscovered the joy of commuting or sitting or walking etc without the glowy rectangle. Disconnect phone and just do nothing for a bit. Doesn't have to be 2 hours. I have stopped playing with phone when on a bus or train, and instead look out the window. Recently had a week of holiday, and tried my best to ignore my phone as I rode ferries, busses and trains, walked thru parks. Ate without artificial distraction. It was this unbelievable luxury of selfish disconnection.
We have a small collection, made by my Mom's best friend about 40 years ago. Each line, each symbol represents something (usually religious).
Lived in the UAE about 15 years ago. Almost every non-Emirati who is there by choice because they 'enjoy the lifestyle' (outside of, like, teachers) is the worst person you'll ever meet.
Was once mistaken for someone much much more important at a film festival, and the food arrived only a few minutes after we'd ordered it. Afterwards, we decided that they'd probably given us someone else's order? And made that person wait?
One day, someone is going to cut their leg off or something doing yet another version
Japan has an incredible history of fire fighting. Almost every museum I went to there had a display dedicated to fire suppression or prevention. Really cool.
Try a longyi (cotton wrap commonly worn by men in Indonesia, India and other parts of SE Asia). Hubby wears one all summer, but usually not in public unless we are in SE Asia.
