Just use a damn multimeter. Current, voltage, resistance, diode checks. Also make sure it's rated for the voltage you are checking. And don't try to check voltage with the leads in the current testing position, you will pop the fuse. I just ordered 10 fuses for my team at ~20$ each because of that. Test voltage "across" a circuit on + and -, and current "through" the circuit by removing a fuse or similar and sticking the meter leads in place. Most meters only have 10A fuse, otw use clampon
