They aren't for constant, every day use, and the point is to avoid things like "well I'm a real/normal woman". It's like saying tall and short men. How does it look when someone says "oh yeah, I date men and short men"? Would you be opposed to being called a tall man or a short woman?

It puts them on equal grounds with trans people, instead of being able to say they're 'normal' and trans people are just the weird ones.

The issue isn't that some books are kept from kids, it's which books, and the severity of punishments when innocent books are given to kids.
It really isn't, because the subject matter isn't R rated, or inappropriate for kids, since they're quite literally made for kids. But you know that, don't you? You just consider anything gay to be 'R' rated material, no matter how innocent.
Surguries tend to have a much longer wait list, counseling and therapy beforehand, and years of hormones before it's even on the table. Much more than most forms of cosmetic surgury
I promise, no trans person going through official channels isn't well aware of the medical risks. Medication and surgery are always risky, but they're less risky than not getting any care at all, for most trans people
