I would also agree that if all you need is a tapped hole in a block, then drilling and tapping is way easier and faster!
and changeover time and reduces opportunities for error. Allows machine to create finished part w/ no need for secondary processes.
When a piece is already being CNC machined w/ various complex features and needs tapped holes in tricky places, this saves a LOT of setup 1/
