you are right that a mathematically correct feedforward is (almost) impossible, but you can use optimal control (like LQR) to approximate one, and then on top of that you will have to put a feedback controller like PD (you wouldn't need the I) to regulate away any deviations that optimized trajectory had from a mathematically correct feedforward.I implemented those before on a double pendulum.a PID controller alone does nothing.

It's one thing to cringe, it's another to collect them as "a freakshow" to show around. Things like these range from people just enjoying their hobbies, over just trying to one up one another in weirdness, and others are factually neurodivergent. Don't be a bully.
