I've been in the public eye MANY times, enough to know that what I said is true 98% of the time, and that the perception of the population.
Removing it will make you look better indeed... but will also increase people's confidence in you. Long hair is not a problem, man bun is.
A man bun says a lot about a man. Things like "I'm pretentious and self entitled" or "I have trust issues" (not necessarily your own...)
