Seems who ever made it thinks "smokey" is just one taste. Can't tell charcoal and sugar from peat smoke.
Believe none. Go to Scotland or Ireland. Try as many as you can and learn the best way ;)
A lot of the whiskeys out there are artificially coloured so have to agree with you on that!
Both are damn tasty! Irishman is lovely, almost out of the bottle I have and they don't make that one any more :( :( :(
Something low cost and tasty try Kilbeggan. (thing is its cheep here but might not be in the US)
Depends where you are in the world. Personally I would recommend you get a taster set, cos there is so many out there and so different.
I would have said the same but their are some pairings that are, exceptional interesting. Jaffa cakes and something smokey for some reason!
Triple distilled is the distinction/difference (normally) and the reason it is so smoooooothhhh
And don't forget "some scotch tastes like bourbon" cos we make our whiskey smokey by burning the arse out of our casks too! Heathens!
Not to mention the "some scotch tastes like bourbon" line later on :|

I would not go by this if you want to learn about whiskey/whisky a lot of it is, well not wrong but misleading. (1)
