Hope things are going okay! Not being able to afford lawyers is another reason to stay as civil as possible. Hopefully you can agree on things one on one before using lawyer time. But keep an eye out too. Bad/cheap lawyers can cost more in the long run. Brother-in-law got screwed over really badly, even though his ex wife was cheating and abusive. Mostly because she was devious and horrible, but the lawyer that was cheaper per hour (that he could afford) was also corrupt and incompetent...

Also, the way we communicate in a panic state vs a planned, thoughtful state is different. She got the chance to come to you in her own time with something she wanted to say. You only got to respond. Can you ask for time to talk, where you're the one with something to say? You can look into counselors in your area and think up a few plans/ compromises to discuss?

So sorry it's happening. You should give her the space and time, but it's important to be true to yourself too. If you want it to work, it's okay to say that's the thing you want. Marriage is not meant to be one sided and it sounds unfair that she made up her mind alone without letting on that there was an issue. Obviously life isn't fair, and not like you'll automatically win if you bring that up. Please just care for yourself and try not to feel bitter, no matter what. Time will tell <3

You can still talk to her and see if you can fix things? I've been married to my husband 7 years. About 1.5 years ago, we went through a really rough patch (both work a lot, moved to a new state and our son was a toddler). Things got so bad I told him I really wanted out. His response was 'how do we fix it'. We worked on it, and things are better. If you think it's possible, tell her you want to make it work, and see what happens. Those conversations are brutal, but worth it in my experience.

Prepaying is not really a thing. Guy is trying to screw you

Unpopular opinion, but I am a college professor. I don't think this is greed, it's a desire for fairness and people succeeding on their own merit. I would not want a therapist who only passed psych due to grade inflation to treat me or my loved ones. I would not want a bridge built after being signed off by an engineer who graduated in this way. If it's "everyone gets $100 if you vote the same way", that's a greed experiment, and they do tend to play out similarly. Here, I'd vote exam.

I (f) decided against one, and we got comments for a couple weeks (stupid things about him being cheap, etc. when it was my decision). 6 years later, I basically forgot until seeing your post. It will end soon enough, so don't worry!

Yup. We need to have a sex strike against these people. Women need to stick together, stay home, and be careful around men for at least 4 years

I'm so sorry, and please don't think you need to hurt yourself! You can message me if you want! Also, try zocdoc for virtual therapy options. I found a psychiatrist that takes my weird insurance, 100% virtual, and most people try to work with you on the price. And divorce is much easier on your kids than death. Even if it's hard, your life is worth the fight! Big virtual hug!

This is so horrible and I'm so sorry this happened. I'm sure you thought of this before, but maybe consider a civil suit against them and the prosecutor? Keep the money (which you deserve, even if it will never be enough) or use it to help other victims.

Watch out for infection. Puncture wounds can get infected really easily. Minute clinics are cheap and pretty good about giving antibiotics

Have you ever been diagnosed with anxiety or depression? You could register the kitty as a therapy animal and legally keep him/her wherever
