busy going feral about the state of the world.

I did that once to see who would get to go first in a drive through. The other dude won and then paid for me, made my day for sheer fun human shenanigans. c: Just people being bros.

Not the person you responded to, but I have a fairly similar story. For me, it felt like I'd been living my entire life in a room with fifty different tvs all playing at once - some on different channels in different languages, some just slightly out of step with each other. All of them loud. Suddenly there was one. The difference hasn't been that dramatic since that first dose, but my current average is like... idk, 3 TVs? I can handle 3 TVs.

SON, YOU SHOW ME RIGHT NOW WHERE THAT INVALIDATES WHAT I SAID (this is my best attempt at Ominous Positivity Team Mom Voice, watch out) One's tastes are not solely dictated by attraction to a gender/sex!! I'm sure you are an attractive fella for folks who are into your Vibe. Trust your gf!! You deserve to think well of yourself!!

Buddy, I hate to break it to you but you're just not your type. You're hers - don't mistrust her, just accept her tastes are different :)

Two faves to add: Nancy Wake ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Wake ) and Noor Inayat Khan. ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noor_Inayat_Khan ). Both women worth reading about!

God, that was so well done. What a good portrayal of loss and grief and going forward. Def high up there.

Sorry - did you think I was speaking generally of all Americans? I know these things are happening and I fully support those participating. I crossed the border to join a protest myself in April. My issue is specifically with those who believe that their 'sorry' absolves them of a need of further action. It's been my experience that those that say it want that to be enough, and get immediately heated/defensive when we dare to say it isn't. I appreciate your passion on the matter.

As a Canuck, I am very curious - why is this the default response when we express that we're past the point of 'sorry' being enough? Why is it up to us to tell you things you can easily google? March. Organize. Donate to the few free press institutions left in the US. Call politicians. Volunteer in your community. Wear pride pins. Give socks to the homeless. Ask your kids to keep an eye on any immigrant children in their classes in case they are disappeared or lose their parents. ANYTHING.

I attended a union celebration yesterday for International Workers' Day, and one of the things that a union sister was talking about is how new teachers are coming into the field burning out within ~5 years due to low wages, overcrowded/underfunded classrooms and violence. Harrowing shit.

This is a very lovely letter, OP. In better days, your father raised a genuine, compassionate soul, and I hope he can return to being that person soon. Best wishes.

IA - I've spoken with more than a few people from Quebec over the course of the election and it seems like, barring a few, separatist ambitions have been largely laid to rest - but I also can't blame them for being protective of their culture, language and history. Our Quebecois are awesome :)

I hope that the Libs are smart enough to examine why AB/BC/large swathes of Sask were lost and can spin up some serious grassroots initiatives there. (Most) folks aren't bad, just frustrated and fed up.

Yeah. I also really hope that the more reasonable conservatives can still be reached so we don't end up with a situation where a party (ANY party) votes solidly together for or against something out of spite rather than in the interest of their constituents. Alternatively, maybe they can break out of the current Con party and the extremist half can go join the PPC and the remainder can rebrand.

Bloc voters spoke loud and clear last night: they sacrificed multiple seats to keep the liberals in power, putting Canada first in a massive way. It would be disrespectful to the seats they lost for the remaining MPs to actively rally against the liberals now. My hope is that they're savvy enough to support Quebec *and* play across the aisle with the libs for the betterment of all of Canada. Fingers crossed, but last night really brought it home for me that Quebec knows when to put Canada first.

Hey OP, do you have your guide on how to make everything so shiny somewhere? I'd love to buy it. :) (I took a look for your etsy but 'nico printed antiques' just got me either... antiques, or Nico Robin figurines from One Piece, haha)

I dated a partner that was a little over a foot taller than me and literally everything felt awkward, lmf. My upper limit is like 6'1. I do appreciate someone who can throw me around, but I like to be able to throw back!!

Compliments, so soon? Darling, are you angling for a proposal? Why, you're a daisy if you do!

It's so endearingly cute when the little Russian bots and/or brainwashed republicans think they can argue with an educated Canadian. Here, so you can manage better grammar next time, you'd actually say: 'tariffs are coming'. (PS: Tariffs are going to hurt America more than Canada 😘 Разве это не так?)

Oh no, it can't read :( Why don't you do me a favour, darling, try my links and then take another crack at those scary, scary numbers for me. You can do it! I believe in you!!
