It’s ok to put a hole in a support as long as it’s under a certain size and ideally in the center, never at the edge. They are creating a huge potential risk of electric shock by a homeowner or tradesperson because a simple tack nail can hit this wire.

#3 I’d put 795001, and say “I want to make more than at least one NFL player.” They start at 795000 (as of 2024). Lets them know you want a lot without giving them any other useful info, so the ball is in their court to come back with the most they think they can offer. It’s exactly as serious a response as the question deserves.
If you have a loose solder connection this can sometime move the join together in a way that conducts correctly. If whacking it fixes it temporarily, you may be able to take it apart, find the loose joint, and resolder it. Some solder joints are load bearing and for large transformers, and can crack. I’ve personally fixed an LCD HDTV this way, the solder joint that failed prevented the backlight from working but everything else worked. Once resoldered, it worked completely again.

Experienced software engineer here. If we lost this ability our first goal would be to regain it and there is enough hardware around that we can cannibalize that we would succeed. But believe me, at scales that economically matter, we care about efficiency,m. But it’s also important to keep software easy to understand for the developers that build it: maintaining engineering agility outweighs maximum execution efficiency.
I dunno how you are on your journey but for me it’s starting to get easier each day. You can do it!
