Is there a brand or model that comes to mind that you could recommend? I have a very decent 000 guitar in the 1000€ range and I’ve just today been saying how a banjo would be cool. I’m maybe an intermediate or slightly below fingerpicker if that matters.
The last bit. I grew up in a very safe little suburban town in West Germany but I personably know at least four people who were killed either because they themselves were driving drunk or were with someone who did. One of my friends had a very bad accident riding his bike while drunk, he barely learned to walk and talk again. Lots more people who ought to have been hurt or killed under the influence but through sheer luck weren’t. Unfortunately we thought it wasn’t a big deal back then.
It’s so embarrassing here in Germany but the good thing is that people are slowly starting to wake up on the left. I work at a university and there is a poster with Israeli propaganda on the hallway outside my office. It’s a clever mixture of valid points and diabolical sophistry, absolving Israel of taking responsibility for its horrific human rights abuse record. I’m thinking of doing something about it.

However, according to recent polls 80% of Germans say Israel's action (I'd call it genocide) in Palestine is "unjustified". Another poll offers that 80% of people are against Germany supplying arms to Israel. The silent majority is fed up with Israel.
