I need a better username... Feel free to suggest. As a headphone user I will downvote every clip that ends with an obnoxiously loud tiktok sound.

Realistically in most cases it's going to be easiest and most efficient to just build it near where it's needed, there is not much of the country that doesn't have sufficient nearby space available. IMO the inconsistency will be near completely solved with grid scale storage, the tech is there, it's good enough, cheap enough just IIUC they can't currently **build** it fast enough to keep up with the pace solar is being installed but that is improving.

Yeah but we could put a 100x100 mile square on some of that already government owned desert land in Arizona and have enough to run the whole country so the space requirements are a far overblown concern. grid scale rechargeable batteries are also a thing and are of drastically better durability than a decade ago. We also get the added energy independence which helps with national security.

Bought a case of them or something that looked just like them in the 32oz size a decade ago, just wanted a few but could only find them from a restaurant supply company so I ended up with a case of 48 of them.

Especially in solar and EV tech since the asshat in chief has declared it a scam in favor of coal so we've drastically cut investments into both meaning china is going to own the future of both industries and they are undeniably going to be the future.

Teargassing people so he could hold a bible in front of a church ought to have been a big insult too.

It's both so far away that lightspeed seems slow and it actually STILL WORKS, we can actually talk to something and it talk back that's so far away that it takes almost 2 entire days to get a reply even though it's sending it's reply effectively instantly.

Yeah but you've got to keep in mind that from the distances we live at light feels instant and yet it's so far away that it takes almost an entire day for the signal to get back to us which should feel insane to anyone.

Always been one of those crazy when you hear it numbers for me. 1 in 4 still feels really high to me and we've got something like 3 in 4. And yet people look at that and go "I don't care, I want them to suffer" which is the sole reason why we don't replicate that here.

Same sort of issue with electric planes, planes benefit by getting lighter as they run out of fuel and they don't actually have to have full tanks to make smaller trips. Electric planes don't get those benefits the batteries weigh the same the entire trip and you can't reduce the weight for shorter trips.

The main issue is the car is always going to be the same size so if you want to *ever* have passengers you have to own one big enough for passengers, this means people have to drive a vehicle with a lot of space they don't need most of the time or own a separate larger vehicle for those events with the added hassle of then having to drive home and swap out if you need to pick some up.

Yeah time to replace your cmos battery. Super easy to do on most desktop machines, just a CR2032 battery, set the clock save the settings and it's good for another 5+ years.

You can play it online or in dosbox on modern machines if you want.

I'm actually still daily driving it. Every day i'm amazed that the vast majority of websites still work with it without issue although a lot of software doesn't anymore.

What constantly surprises me about such disclosures is that they spent so much time, money and effort to hide it and no one actually cared. Like a lot of the global warming deniers have flipped right from "it's a hoax" to "it's not but it's too late to do anything about it now" and yet they are completely incapable of saying a negative word about any of the people that lied to them for decades to get them to that point or even considering moving to another source.

Bad example, health insurance costs are already exploding.

Which imo just makes it fit less since they'd have been able to explain better. We're not as advanced as the speculated beings and yet **we** could explain it better, pretty critical would be making sure to teach them a written language so it'd have some fraction of a chance of being retained correctly but no such thing happened. For example the Cherokee written language was made by one guy.

Yeah, healthy workers are productive workers and they couldn't be bothered to describe how to provide healthcare to everyone or even leave with "wash your hands"

Yeah but we eat pork today because we understand how to process it safely, why would an advanced race be like "lol don't eat it is got demons" instead of "don't eat this part and cook it first" instead we've got weird stuff about not cooking animals in their mothers milk. I'm still going back to not *any* advanced knowledge, there's not one thing in there that they shouldn't have known at the time, if anything like the mustard seed claim there's a lot they should've known and didn't.
