Fwiw, it's probably a combination of the last two. You're losing whatever good there may have been in the past, and whatever potential good there might have been. So grieve your losses. When I was younger, there was someone who worked very hard to make my life as hellish as possible. Several years later, there was a sense of loss. For me, it was losing something that helped make me who I am. Eventually, that loss faded away. Yes, process your grief, your feelings, and move on.

Walk away. It sucks, but in the long run you'll be better off. I had to do this a few months ago. It was rough, but it reduced stress in my life.

I spent the first 40 years of my life depressed, anxious, and dealing ADD. Meds have helped a lot.
Still valid. GF has kids in the early 20's, I'm in my 50's. We were doing shots one night, and they were amazed at me not taking a chaser.
