We used to have an award called The Unknown Hero. It was always about someone who worked through weekends, nights and holidays to get some project completed that probably went off the rails due to poor management. It started to be called The Unknown Parent award, and I haven’t seen one handed out in years now.

You can’t get used to something if it keeps getting worse.
My favorite shit is when it comes out nice and clean, or a paper saver in common parlance. I bring this up because I just had a 10/10.
I had a Democrat researcher knock on my door in 2000 to ask what my top policy concern was. When I told her Global Warming she didn’t have it as something to check off. I knew about it in the 80’s as a teen. How we’ve ignored it even up to 2023 shows how humans don’t have the capacity to take on issues unless it’s actually in our face. Now it’s all far too late.
In the Movie ‘Vice’ Dice Cheney sets up tests groups to change Global Warming to a less frightening term. If that movie is to be believed they came up with Climate Change. Both are accurate, as climate is changing as a result of warming, but one was designed to soften the public’s desire to worry about it.
Remember when Republican Senator James Inhofe came onto the floor with a snowball as proof global warming is fake .. in 2016. We’re paying for that kind of idiocy, and luckily for him he’ll be dead of old age before his children and grandchildren really suffer in a way he could never imagine.
Odd I was expecting the Outer Banks NC. They have areas where wild horses live.
I was talking to a waitress and she picked up on my English accent. I told her I was from England. ‘Oh, do they speak English there?’. Straight faced. Not ironic.
The cure for that is an event that makes an enormous number of us very poor, very quickly. Kind of like the Great Depression. Or we can continue to slowly give away all our power to the rich while we are kept entertained by our electronic devices.
GB and France have enough nukes to make a fascist America think twice about that.
You realize once your have Portuguese citizenship you can work anywhere in the EU.
Europe is going to need HVAC very soon with hotter sunmers.
On the plus side you didn’t kill anyone or yourself while DUI, so there’s that.

I say let’s give it a chance. If a one party dictatorship doesn’t work out we can always vote back a two party system like nothing happened.
I can vouch for this. He actually was allowed to keep the skin. When I visited his a week or so back he let me wear is a hat. It just ended up sliding down my face though.
