While I 100% agree with you, the categories of "war" and "global health issue" cannot be compared to "professional sports."
First: kids are sponges for this stuff. Second: I've seen kids learn this in one class and others in one month of classes. It takes time.
It's easier than you think for an instructor to support the weight. We don't lift you, we give you hang time, delay your fall.
